Default BES delete on BB when deleted on desktop how?

Please Login to Remove!

(note, I had this in general discussion and deleted it there to move here, which is probably a better forum for the question).

When using BES, how can I set it up so that when I delete mail on my desktop it's deleted on the Blackberry? It seems that when I delete stuff on my desktop (Oulook XP or 2003), these items are never deleted on the BB itself. Or am I misunderstanding something?

Yep, I'm a BB noob and after 2 days on ther BES I've noticed the same problem. It must be something in the Redirector or Intellisync settings. Help us out!

Hi,

I have attached a screen shot of my settings in the desktop manager and it works fine with me. Please check if your account on the BES is set for wireless synchronization.

And second check on your handheld under -> Mail -> Options -> E-mail synchronisation that "Wireless Synch" is set to "ON".

Also make sure in Redirector Settings that "Disable Email Redirection while your handheld is connected" is unchecked. Its optional, but if you want a true 1-to-1 view of your mailbox and the bberry its the way to go.

Enable wireless reconcile and you will pretty much mirror up. It may take a few miutes to delete them on your handheld, but they will go away.

Just be careful not to continually delete the messages from your Deleted Items folder or the BES will not see them and will not know to delete them.

I have actaully been using my BB to delete the Deleted Items from my outlook box.

Okay, this is odd. I double checked everything that people had suggested above, and all was set as shown. I tested and restest, and now it's working. ??!!? It was not working before, and I SWEAR (and you're thinking "yeah right") that I made no changes.

There's some obvious lag because I'm using Outlook 2003 in Cached Exchange Mode but it is happening. One thing I wish the BB would do is allow me to initiate a Reconcile without having made a change. That's idiotic, because I often have desktop rules running after the BES has forwarded something to me. If I could reconcile now without the BB having had a change, a lot would "roll up" for me automatically.

Thanks--if I notice this suddenly break I will be back to this thread.

You can actually force a reconcile on the bberry. But only after a change has been made by you on the bberry. For example, let's say you delete an old message...click in the messages list for the menu, the 2nd to last option is "reconcile now". That menu item will then disappear until another change occurs.

You BES server may not support wireless reconciliation. I know mine doesn't perhaps that it.
