So I'm a new BlackBerry user. I just got a Curve 9300 through Koodo. Their self serve site is being a POS and isn't letting me check out my account, though I *should* have the BlackBerry connect plan on my phone. Internet and everything else works fine, just can't connect to the App World to even register. Is this something wrong on my end, or an issue with my provider??



edit: got into my account and I do have the BlackBerry Connect plan


edit again: The exact error I get is:

"BlackBerry App World is having trouble connecting to the BlackBerry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again. (Error Id: 30641)"

please state how do you try to connect to App world.

Try to register from PC then connect your BB via USB cable to your PC where you have a good wireless coverage then using your registered account download App world to BB in normal conditions it should work.

I had been trying to just connect using my BlackBerry.

As suggested I signed up using my computer and now my BlackBerry is talking to the App World server, and everything is working like it's supposed to.

Im having this exact issue on my brand new Verizon 9930 with unlimited data plan. So far I have done multiple battery pulls, re-registered the service book (twice), uninstalled\reinstalled app world (three times), did an OS upgrade which rolled back the version of app world..then I reloaded the new version again. I have tried the app world install while connected to the PC and by having the link sent to my registered BB email. Saw something about the "permit insecure renegotiation" option on the TLS page..no issue there. I can login to app world on my PC without issue. All other functionality on the phone works just fine. The only thing I cannot do is download from BB app world.

Oh...And when I did the OS upgrade and it rolled back the version of app world, I tried it then and that didnt work either. Didnt give an error msg..just nothing happened when I clicked "download" to install an app.

I cannot d/l from BB world either - keeps rolling out the accept t&a - which i have done 50 times - at least. Spent time on the phone w/ RIM last night - they said defective device (9930) - back to Verizon (for my 3rd replacement, 1st one would not let the data service books get programmed).

@CapeSailer - Have you tried going to the App World(sign in with your BBID) website (on a PC) and downloading via USB?

Thanks. I was just coming back to the forum w/ an update - exactly that.
Went to BB world on the web, brought down the plug-in and was able to get a number of apps i was interested in.

Funny thing - appears that despite setting up my paypal account, i can't buy any apps - they all show up as "n/a" in the price option when i click on purchase.

You can try signing into App World again, hit the link My Payment Options, check to see that your PayPal credentials are correct. If they are not modify/delete the information.

I do not use PayPal as my method of payment, so I am not sure.

I have a 9700 Bold. I have the latest version software of both BlackBerry software and Desktop Software. The error message i get is

"BlackBerry App World is having trouble connecting to the BlackBerry App world server. Verify your network connections and try again."

I understand quite a few people have experienced this, but even though I have attempted the various fixes, nothing seems to work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have also tried to download apps from the internet on a PC – it lets me browse and login and then it says the page no longer exists!

"The page you have requested has been moved or no longer exists. (EC )"

I have already spoken to Orange and there is nothing wrong with the data bundles/service plan/connections etc, and I have full access to everything else on my phone and apps that are already installed.

Please can someone help?

Strangely i used another BlackBerry account id that i had set up and it now works. It took about 10 mins to actually login in but, I can access App World. What did you do?!

If it happens again, what would you suggest?
