Default 3.5mm headphone jack - what are my option?

Please Login to Remove!

I recently bought a Blackberry Tour 9630 two days ago, and when I first went to use the headphone jack the 3.5mm was getting stuck went attempting to insert it into the jack. After some finessing, it was able to get in and I was able to listen to Slacker Radio through my headphones.

Well...this morning I went to plug in my headphones again, and it got stuck again. I tried to see if there was anything in the way, couldn't see anything, after a few minutes of fussing with it I was able to insert the plug fully into the jack; however, the music didn't play through the headphones...it just played through the phone.

I've tried multiple headphones and the music continues to play through the phone.

What are my options?

My fear is that perhaps I got a faulty 3.5mm jack, and I didn't help any by finessing my headphone plug into the jack. Is there anyway to replace the jack without replacing the phone? Would something like that be covered by the manufacturers warranty?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would look first to the manufacturer's warranty. Otherwise you could consider switching to a bluetooth headset.

I'll give Blackberry a call sometime this week and see what they say.

Switching to a bluetooth set won't really help me. I've been listening to the internet radio shows on my phone through my car stereo or my home entertainment system.

Is there anyway, if Blackberry sees fit to screw me over, to replace that specific part of the phone? Has anyone on here done it before?

Call US Cellular -- not RIM or BlackBerry. US Cellular sold you the phone and processes the warranties.
