Good luck. I am sure there are other push services available for iphone just like the one in the link that might help with email.

The Blackberry OS WAS amazing... it is now a slow, buggy & a memory leaking POS. I believe that the 8700 was major milestone.... all the other 8 series devices are so terrible... such small incremental updates... with large price tags... I have had a chance to review the now delayed 9 series... even that was very unimpressive when compared to other phones already on the market...

Every piece of third party software that is any good you have to pay for... there are already over 1000 open source apps for iphone... there is an open source package that converts iphones email ability to function with push so RIM have so much work to do just to become even with these people....

I have been waiting for the 4.3 OS for so long yet it delivers nothing...

It's a sad day indeed.

R.I.P. RIM

May be back when the 10000 is released

not sure why people post these threads. If you are looking for a reason to not switch you will get plenty of those in this thread. The community will reaction in one of three ways. They will be supportive, they will wish you luck, or they will do what they can to try and change your mind. We all love BB here, its why we are here, and when one loves something (think sports team rivalries) many will put down the opposing side. The iPhone has its niche, not something I would ever use, but if you want to switch I wish you luck . If you come back, we will welcome you then too.

My guess is attention.

On another note, the iPhone is sleek and sexy like a sports car. It does what you need but really has no benefit over another car. To me a blackberry is like a pick-up or minivan. You know its not "sleek or sexy" but it does everything you need it to do. You'll get a lot of miles out of the tried and tested work horses. Sure it has hic-ups but what piece of technology doesnt.

Good luck with the iPhone, Im sure it will satisfy your needs.

I beg to differ. Some of the new BB devices are as sexy as they get. Touch Screen does not mean sexy to me at all. Especially when that touch screen is a collage of greasy finger prints and smudges.

Ditto. If you can switch that easily I think you are not looking for utility but for cool gadgets. If I want to play games I can on my Xbox. If I want to listent to music I use my Ipod. My Blackberry is all about business for me.

I wonder how much of the nonsense spewed here would stand as it is today?

I can stand side by side and receive work emails directly from my Exchange server the minute I receive them. While having my Gmail account also pushed to my phone. I can also take a few pictures, and while without the beautiful flash of a Curve, I'll still launch my email and send them to everyone. Or heck correct the dim picture by launching my Photogene app and adjusting contrast and cropping right on the phone.

Or maybe I'll just hit the little Photo icon in facebook and share it with everyone online.

If I want to play games while going through some downtime at work, I don't think I'll be carrying around my XBox. The Iphone provides some pretty intense graphic power for some pretty NEAT games (Hero of Sparta anyone?).

The convenience of having all these devices into one just makes it all worthwhile.

I went from a Curve to iPhone just recently and will not be looking back.

A few things missing on the iPhone that are pretty major for me. Multiple open applications. I hate not being notified of new IM's from BeeJive app. Other than this there is nothing I will be regretting from the change.

My wife has been on the Iphone for 1 year now...she is now begging me to get her a Bold.
  • She wants a good keyboard
  • Copy Paste
  • One handed phone
  • Quick access to major functions without all that tapping
  • Superior Email functionality
  • Now with DRM Free Itunes she can sync all Itunes songs to BB
  • And with YouMail you even get Visual VoiceMail

That's why I got the Ipod Touch...all the apps and Exchange email without the phone.
