Default 9630 - Trackball Clicking Issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry Tour 9630 that recently started having problems when I would click the trackball. Essentially, the phone will not select the requested item when I click the trackball the first time and it often requires several attempts to succeed.

My carrier's repair center replaced the trackball today and even with the new part the phone is still exhibiting the same behavior. Naturally, I found out about this after I got back to the office.

The phone is less than a year old so it should be under the original manufacturers warranty. Does anyone have a suggestion in terms of the next course of action? I'm willing to go back to my carrier but it might be easier to deal with RIM directly.

Your carrier or whoever sold you the blackberry is who you go to for warranty claims and support.

Are you sure it isn't just a browser issue? Did you do the usual troubleshooting . . . Clear the cache and cookies and do a 30-second battery pull?

If the issue is hardware, go back to the carrier again.

I went back to one of my carrier's repair centers yesterday and they replaced the trackball contact. It seems to have fixed the issue.
