Default Accessing Public folders

I have a BB 9600. I have access to a public folder that I have put under my favorite in MSOutlook and would like to have access via my BB.

Has anybody tried this, I have been told by my administrator that it is not possible but I have some doubts.

Are you trying to access this folder while connected to a BES or BIS?
