Default WoW!!! What is up with the Track pad and the Browser?

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, a day into the Bold 9930. And I gotta say the device is pretty sweet. But what in the world is up with using the track pad within the browser? It goes nuts, has a mind of its own, and basically wigs out when you try to use it to zone in on something. Never ever saw anything like this before on any of my countless Blackberries over the years. Anyone else seeing this?

Nope...started fresh! No apps, nothing on here except for what came with the phone, and me transferring my contacts over from my computer. Phone is clean as a whistle! Happened a bunch of times today!

Sure it isn't what others are seeing...where your fingers unknowingly touch the screen while moving on the trackpad?

Lol...no, its deff not that! I've read some bits and pieces here and there that some people are having the same issue. Must just be a small bug in the OS...

I'll bet its the thumb on the screen. Show us a video carefully swiping vs you normally swiping the trackpad - as you're used to on the 9780/9700/trackball device. I was thinking it was the browser as well.

If I'm wrong, clear the cached, click menu and select CLOSE. Yes the browser keeps running but give this a try and repeat. I'll agree the BB7 browser is very sensitive to Touch/Trackpad input/manipulation.

I have the same scrolling issue....and a squeeky trackpad also. I wonder if the two issues are related.

Do you guys also have squeeky trackpads?

Nope my trackpad is pretty solid! This is the World of Blackberry, its hit or miss as far as build quality goes with RIM's devices.

However, I would do an exchange if it's really Squeeky, that would drive me nuts as far as the track pad goes.

I've seen this happen quite a few times... but it's a small glitch that does not bother me. I confirmed the trackpad cursor goes erratic when sliding your finger across the trackpad and screen at or almost at the same time. Doing this confuses the scrolling basically...

I've gone through 3 since launch...That squeeky track pad is present on quite a few...My first one didn't have it, but the next 2 did! One major, one minor...Its amazing how RIM just can't do anything right as far as build quality goes. Tisk Tisk...

Yeah I sprayed a little of that on a Q-tip and dabbed a little around the trackpad then worked it in. Been better since.

You're kidding right? I was just foolin' around when I posted that...

If you're serious, I'm ROTFLMFAO....seems like this product has a multitude of uses, like Windex in "My big fat Greek wedding". LOL

Yeah I heard about people doing it on other forums so I gave it a shot. Helped it but didn't cure it. Duct tape and Wd-40 can fix anything.

I've had exactly the same problem. A small movement on the tp and the cursor jumps to the top of the screen bringing the address bar into view. It doesn't always happen but when it does the only way round is to move the cursor ever so slowly to where you need it.
