Default Just got my Curve today!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys, first time proud new owner of a T-Movile Curve. I had a few questions, basically total noob questions.

Firstoff, I was wondering if it was any way possible to randomly choose a ringtone from a grouping to ring anytime someone calls. (ie. not setting any specific ringtone, just randomly pulling out of a folder or something) I'm guessing no, but it's worth a try.

edit: I've been using wavepad in advance making ringtones, saving them to mp3 format. Is it easy to turn these into ringtones, like just dragging them onto your BB and setting them as ringtones? Also, is there a better way to make ringtones, I mean, this way is easy, but if there is a way to get better quality, i'm all down.

Second, What are some good free apps to get? I got the 19.99 data plan, so I plan to take as much advantage as possible. Also, how does the BB install it's apps? If I bring in a file via USB, will it automatically install when I click on it? If it's in the BB format, of course.

Thats all I can think of for now, thanks in advance!

I suggest you first read the FAQ. That will provide quite a lot of good, general info on the BB. Also use the "SEARCH" function. You will tend to get more assistance if you do those first.

I assume you have a BB dataplan?

As for apps, what are you looking for? Check out the Aftermarket Software section for suggestions. You can also check out the RIM website and Handango.com for various applications, some free, some you pay for.

Thanks for the faq suggestion. I was mainly curious about the ringtone question though. The random thing is something i'd really like to have, although i'm 99% sure it isn't possible. Side note, how loud is the ringer on the curve anyways? Is it acceptable for a phone in it's class?

Yes you can just drag mp3s onto the device and set them as ring tones... I would get an SD card to store them tho... Search the forum.. There are several threads about great after market apps.. Enjoy ur BB...

Another new guy here. Tommorow will be one week for me and my new Curve. You will run into alot of things that may confuse you, but if you utilize the search function and check the FAQs, you will usually find your answer. So far I have found an answer to ringtone questions, Opera Mini issues, and GPS questions. Enjoy.

No, there isn't a way to do this. The ringtones are set and are used each time. There isn't a random setting.

Got my Curve a few days ago. This is the best Blackberry I have ever owned. I have really enjoyed the past couple of days.

I love the Curve! I used to have an iPhone, but, kept missing calls because of the low ringer volume. Wish the Curve had more onboard memory.

Default 7-day anniversary today for my Curve 8330

Hi, all. I just thought I'd chime in because I am absolutely loving my Curve. I've never had a smart phone or anything more sophisticated than a basic cell. To say I'm fascinated by this thing would be a gross understatement.

I was able to sync to my calendar Outlook; add a financial program; find movie times; use the GPS; make the phone a dongle and use it as a wireless modem; surf the net; email people like crazy; and the list goes on. This is just dadgummed week 1. Woohoo. This phone is crazy fun.

I've never been happier with an electronic device than this phone -- and I really just got it because I'm a bi-vocational minister/marketing director and I needed a calendar I could carry with me at all times. The rest is just gravy, but some of it is quickly becoming indispensable.

My only disappointment has been the .pdf reader, so I've rattled a bunch of cages on this, and I am even hoping to become an official beta tester for someone claiming they've got a good, versatile reader. Once I can view .pdf documents that aren't either teensy-weensy or, when enlarged, so filled with artifacts that they're virtually illegible, I am just going to have to pronounce the phone perfect.

:O)

Have a great weekend, all.

John

Hi Everyone, I have had my T-Mobile Curve for over 7 months now. It just keeps getting better, the only problem I have had is that the return key the one with the circle arrow on it to the right of the trackball, the arrow has worn off and I now have a clear button only. It works everytime so no problem really, just rubbed the sucker to much.
Thanks!!

I am a new blackberry Curve owner. I've had mine since Yesterday and so far so good!
I'm totally enjoying my new phone! The calendar section is the best feature for me since, as of late, i've needed to keep reminders of interviews.
