Default How to delete unwanted BIS account?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, there!
I have a couple of questions. Maybe you can help me, guys.
I've created an account for my BB at Vodafone BIS site (https://bis.eu.blackberry.com/html?brand=vodauk) by mistake. So I can't register it at MTS BIS site (https://bis.eu.blackberry.com/html?brand=mts). How can I get rid from unwanted account or re-register my device on other site. Vodafone can't help me, 'cause I'm not it's customer. MTS can't help me, 'cause they just don't know what to do.
Any suggestions in my case?

Well, the problem still exists.
Maybe somebody on Vodafone UK wants to use this account for his/her needs? Log in and use with your device. PM me.

Your email should still work if your BIS account is with Vodafone. There will be no data roaming charges from MTS if you use MTS SIM card and are in MTS covered area.

So, the only true inconvenience you will have Vodafone blackberry email address. Just don't use it, delete it from BIS account and you are done.

If you need free email address create new Google or Yahoo email address and add them to your blackberry account.

This is the easiest way.

Thank you for explanation. But there is another problem persists. I don't have any BB data plan neither from Vodafone nor from MTS. So I can't use my account properly.

Well, if you don't have and don't need BB data plan, you can just login to your Vodafone BIS account, delete all email addresses from there including blackberry email address and that's it.
Idle BIS account won't bother you.

The problem with sharing your BIS account with someone is that it could have some of your personal information left with Vodafone. After all, they usually wouldn't let you create BIS account on their site if you don't have data plan with them at some point, meaning they got your personal and billing info.

If you just give your BIS account to some stranger as a 'gift' so to speak and they use it in some illegal ways like spamming or worse, authorities may be after you. Do you really need that?

Also, answering your other question about re-registering device on other side: it will only work if you have data plan with wireless carrier owning that 'other' site and only after you managed to remove your account from Vodafone site.

Finally, if you really really really want to get rid of your BIS account and have time to spend calling MST tech support:

Give them your device IMEI, PIN, and account name on Vodafone site, tell them escalate to RIM support to delete that account on RIM servers. Make MTS open ticket with RIM and follow progress.
MTS can't delete your account by themselves but they can make it happen by escalating to RIM support.

Thank you for detailed answer!
I think I'll just leave this account blank, without any email or info about me, 'cause for now MTS have BB data plan ONLY for corporate users. So I'll wait about a year or more...
There is another option to release my device from account I think. What is to use some dead & unregistered BB and make a "device change"? Could this "tricky move" help?

Yes, successful PIN swap in your BIS account will release your device.

Hi, ZealHybrid!
Didn't do that yet. Accumulating money for international call.

I think PIN will be released, BUT only for creating new account on the same network's BIS, 'cause it's not completely removed from database. IMHO.

If Orange won't delete the original BIS account, then you are out of luck. One of the biggest problems we see on here with buying a used BB.

Sometimes the carrier will try to help, but in most cases the original owner must call their carrier to cancel their BIS which will release the PIN for you to use.

You can't get a new PIN as that is tied to the phone and can't be changed.

Finally I've got what I wanted at 12:56 on June, 5th (time is local - GMT+3). It took me 17 minutes for it: 12 minutes on hold and 5 minutes of conversations with Vodafone's CSR and TechSupport. Now my PIN is free and for now my carrier is ready to sign me up to it's semi-BIS (~11-12 USD/month for 10 email inboxes only, no BBMessenger, no BBMaps, no PIN2PIN and other BB features).
