For wifi, you should actually have an "Internet Browser" option. If not, resend your service books. That can be done from the Tmobile website, or even easier through the "Manage Internet Email" icon on the phone. That pulls up the browser so of course it has to be working. But when it comes up, there's a "Service Books" under "Settings". If you don't end up with the "Internet Browser" option in the browser options, call Tmobile since they might have to do something on their end.
The Hotspot Browser I think is for Hotspot locations like airports, although I think Internet Browser works fine for there.
For the ball, it sounds like there's something stuck in there. Unless the metal housing is somehow bent, that's the only physical way to stop the ball from rolling. It has to be jamming between the ball and the metal casing. You can try pulling the battery out, pressing on the ball and rolling that direction until it crunches up whatever it is or squeezes it out. You can also try removing the trackball to really clear it out.
If you have to return it, do it before the grace period in your state. I think 14 days in most states. 30 days in some. That's when you can just literally return it. I think because of that, they will give you a new unit since they'd rather you keep the phone and the service. But I'm not completely sure about that or Best Buy.
After that you have to warranty exchange it so you will get a refurbished unit.
