Default wifi network

Please Login to Remove!

I get no service from any carrier inside my college and all of my classes are in the basement. however there is a wireless network throughout most of the building that is free for me to use. i have to sign on to it when i want to use it and i have my curve setup to use the wireless but it cant connect to it. it supposed to redirect me to the colleges wireless page when i go to any address on the web. but on the curve it just doesnt let me use it. is there any way to get the blackberry to go to there website so i can access the wireless. its really a pain when i have to go upstairs to get any messages.

Default How to do it

Open the browser and look in the bookmarks. You will see "hotspot login." Go to that page. That will change the browser mode to wi-fi instead of edge. After that page loads, you will either be at the right page, or you can then goto another page and it'll get you to the right place.

See this message as it is about the same problem you are having and it gives a lot of ideas in there.

alright ill try that, but now i have a new problem with the wifi, it used to work at my house just fine, but i noticed today that now it doesnt. worked fine yesterday and i didnt change any settings that i know of. if shows good signal strength but the tests will fail. i did a battery pull and it connected to the router fine again, checked a few minutes later and its not anymore. just shows the yellow with the dash for the connection. it says its trying to connect to the router. it will sometimes connect real quick but fail right away. idk what is wrong with it.

i get error wo10 and it says wifi association failed. it just keeps trying to connect to the router. also what does the signal level dBm mean? mine says -256, is that good or bad. btw im sitting right next to the router.

after talking to tmobile for an hour they couldnt figure it out. they think its a router problem but nothing has been changed and i reset it. they tried wiping my phone, battery pull, resetting the saved wifi connection.nothing worked. it connects for a split second then disappears. but now i just restored my phone from the wipe and its connected to netgear again. normally it will just say wifi is on with the blacked out icon and shows a yellow status symbol. now its showes a darkened wifi icon, yellow circle but instead of on it says netgear like it should. under the diagnostics it shows that the uma is connected but the blackberry infrastructure is not connected. what is the problem?

im pretty much snowed in right now so i cant try it at a starbucks like the guy wanted me to do, maybe tomorrow.

edit:before i even finished typing this it disconnected from netgear and i just checked one more time and it reconnected. wtf is wrong with it? also i havent gotten any emails from my gmail account or my school email even though it shows i have some when i check on teh computer. could this be a related problem?
