Default Enter button on SMS messages

Please Login to Remove!

I don't think this is an option, but I its worth asking I guess. I have a habit of hitting the enter button when typing SMS messages, causing me to send the message before I'm done typing. Is there a way to turn off the enter button sending the text and just being able to press the menu button and then "send". ?

FYI - I too wanted to disable this feature for both SMS and BBM.

Generally, you can locate such a feature by opening the program, hitting the BB key and selecting "Options". No such option with .328.

I researched it and it appears there is no way to do so. Maybe it will be a feature added to one of the next beta OS builds.

BBM has the option to set it where the enter key inserts a line break instead of sending the message, but that doesn't seem to be an option for SMS. :\

The enter key always did a line break on .148, so I guess it was a programming change. I prefer the line break.

Hiya,

I'm struggling with this too - particularly when I go to hit delete to correct a typo and then send an incomplete (and error-strewn!) message...

Anyone got a solution? The annoying thing is that I'm sure I saw an option for this somewhere but can no longer find it. Maybe it was in BBIM...

Hmmm....

Wirelessly posted

Yeah it is an option in BBM, but not for SMS messages. Hopefully they will provide this option in an update!

I know this is an old thread, but ....

I also was accidentally sending messages when I'd hit 'enter' instead of 'backspace', which I tend to do a LOT on this keypad. Under Options | SMS Text there is an option that says 'Press Enter Key to Send' .. i set mine to 'NO'. Now if I press enter, I get a blank line - to send, I just press the Berry key and choose 'send', or press the Berry key twice quickly.
