Default 4.5 Repositioning Banner Themes Fixed

Please Login to Remove!

If you're having problems with custom themes as in on the zen theme home page the banner objects would be customized but as soon as you press menu, the banner objects on the icon home screen would go back to the default settings/positions.

Replacing the default net_rim_theme_bbdimension themes (icon, L, today and zen) from OS 4.5.0.18 into the Java folder of .37 solves the problem with banner objects reverting back to default.

Is there a fix for this problem in 4.5.0.18 for the 8100? I have ...18 and I am experiencing the same problem. Should I load an older version of those themes also and if so whats the best way of going about getting them? Thanks for helping me out with this.

If you have this problem in .18 then yes try different bbdimension versions of 4.5, maybe .9, .10, .13, .31 or .37.

I don't have the 8100 so my testing for that device is limited.

Anyone find a version of bbdimension themes for the 8100 that allows the the Today Plus themes to keep their location? I am running 4.5.0.37 and tried the dimension themes from 4.3.1.14 which was the last version that worked with the Today Plus properly.

When doing a hard reset, the Today+ theme does not save the locations of icons.

Did you specifically try the "net_rim_theme_bbdimension_today_320x240_b.cod " theme from .14 and did you load the .cod file to your device via Javaloader?

I had the same problem with the Today+ theme but after using the bbdimension themes from .18 it was corrected.

I am on an 8100, but I have loaded all four of the net_rim_theme_bbdimension cods from 4.5.0.10 because 18 also had the same problem with the Today+ theme and it still does not save the icon positions. I never loaded 4.5.0.10 so I don't know if that had the same bug or not. I also tried 4.3.1.14 as that did not have the problem when I had it loaded on my Pearl.

I am loading everything by javaloader. (javaloader -usb load net_rim_theme_bbdimension_today_240x260_b.cod)

Hop on AIM or Google if you can to discuss the possible solutions.

Thanks for your help.

BB Dimension Today Plus (icons on the right)
Today+ (icons on the bottom)

The "Today Plus" theme will continue to have the issue with icon placement (could be something in how this theme was created though I'm uncertain)

I have tried both and the issue is the same regardless.

How are those themes loaded, Javaloader or OTA?

Loaded OTA as you cannot download the .cod from RIM to load manually.

The only way to load manually with Javaloader would be to load OTA, use javaloader to extract the cod and then delete and reload using Javaloader. If you think this will make a difference I can try but it seems like loading the cod that you just extracted would only load back on the same exact app with the same problems.

I could not load bbdimension theme cod files since I never had any previous versions of os v4.5 before .42... ( i have 8120 from tmo with v4.3 loaded)

I tried to swap the file from v4.3 with the one in v4.5.0.42 to possibly fix this issue and guess what..? It fixed the theme bugs, but it disabled my video/voice recording features. :(

I swapped it back to the original one to enable those two features now.

Is it 'illegal' to ask for the single bbdimension_zen cod file here?
I have searched the web for hours with hope to find any previous versions with that file in, but no luck so far..

I guess I'll just wait for the official release if that is illegal to ask for that file.

if not.. can anybody send me that file?

thanks in advance.

I never had this problem with any of the themes. I deleted all of the cods recommend in the clean up your memory thread. Perhaps try removing the file completely???

I just had to add these back this morning. I redid 4.5.0.44 this morning to remove all the Quincy/RIM Internal Tools stuff.. Following JC's memory cleaning guide once again I removed all the Dimension themes except for Icon.
When it rebooted my screen looked like an old Mac classic. black and white crappy icons.
Selecting any theme did absolutely nothing when I clicked the trackball to activate it.

Tried reinstalling the wallpapers but that didnt do it. Finally worked when I put the remainder of the Dimension themes back on it. Noticing the Zen theme was almost 2MB, Im guessing RIM's got something in there that has to do with more than just the theme selected at the moment..

^ I personally would not remove any of the bbdimension themes.
