Hi,

Does anybody have an earlier copy of the BBlight software still lurking on their PC that they could email me if I PM them my email, I had to reinstall my software and I prefer the version of BBLight where you simply clicked on the icon to start the light then clicked on the icon to turn off the light (none of these fancy settings!, which I'm sure are great but for what I need the old version was great!

Thanks in advance!

I tried and tried to get around this, but could not. I finally gave up and upgraded to the 7250 which works better anyway and has the TCP/IP stacking built in. I am sure it has to do with that specifically.

The specific situation is trying to run an app (bbtoday) that needs a service book entry for IPPP (not the BIBS that is installed).

Exclamation Can't connect to outside servers - 3rd party

I am using a 7100t with 4.0 os, trying to use the bbweather or bbtoday and the weather portion says "error: malformed address. Returning null connection" any ideas?

pls help, I have had the bb for 5 days and can't get any 3rd party programs like IM for msn to work. I use t-mobile.

I've gotten BBToday to work fine however it won't save any of my preferences (i.e. location id, stock symbols, disable mds proxy, etc.). It also won't save if I try to save the order of each item under options.

Anyone else having this problem?

J

I just got a BB 7520 and just installed the most recent versions of the BB Tools and I also can't get the BBToday tool to save the preferences regarding plugin order or turning off certain modules.

BBWeather seems to have problems on my 7230. I have 4.0.185 loaded and the latest bbweather.

The weather shows up ok in BBToday most of the time, but sometimes displays 'Malformed ADDRESS - Returning NULL'. I DO have the APN loaded and working. It works fine for midpssh, browsing, etc using tcp, so it is not a internet connection error.

But when I try BBWeather directly, it comes back with the error, 'No service book entry for IPPP' and aborts. -edit- I went into bbweather prefs, turned off proxy, and it now works! Well, as good as weather in BBToday. About 4 out of 6 requests give the 'Malformed address', but if you try a second time, etc, it will eventually work!

Any ideas?

Everytime I load BBToday, thru my app loader. The BB will load up and then just pause at the "nextel" screen, which is the screen just before home.

Question Won't save

Yes - to the 3 or 4 other posters - I too have the problem where the thing won't save any of your settings. Not sure why - but its been the same on several models of Blackberry I've tried. It never saves. Bummer. Not sure what the deal is - I do use a BES, but not MDS and know about disabling the proxy - it just won't keep the disable setting - keeps resetting itself. Anyone have any ideas??

I hope this helps

If you need a location id for BBTODAY go here and type in your city

http://www.aspnetresources.com/tools/locid.aspx

it will give you your location ID

USE CAPS WHEN YOU PUT IT IN

I downloaded and installed BBWeather, but after putting in my zip code, I get an error message of "Error: Could not find a service book entry for IPPP". Does anyone know how to solve this problem. Thanks for your help.

I downloaded all the BB stuff and all work. However, the BB Today is just another application and not the "home page". How do I make this the "home page"? Also, once it is the home page, will it always take me back to BB Today once escaping out of an app like email or tools?

BB Today - I agree with sejinro - it would be great if BB Today could be set to be the standby screen.
