Default Service Pack Install Questions

Please Login to Remove!

I am currently running BES 4.1.4.15 on Exchange 2003. I am from the old school...if it aint broke..dont fix it...so i have not been installing the service packs/updates. What is the proper order to install updates? Can i just skip SP 5 and install SP 6 ? WHat about the maintenance releases (1, 2, 3) for SP 6? Can i just install release 3 after installing SP 6 or do i need to install all 3? Any known major problems/glitches going from SP 4 to SP 6??

You can install SP6 and the latest MR. If you have users with 4.5+ devices, they'll get quite a few new features. I'm hoping you at least patched the pdf issues that have come out.

The PDF issue is what brought me to this point...so the process would be....install SP 6, MR 3 then security update?? Do either the SP or MR install require a reboot??

Unfortunately...Verizon is only up to 4.2.x for the 8830's...

SP requires a reboot, but before you reboot you can run MR3 and save one reboot step.
Dont foget to do a backup of the database.
Also check to see if you are not on BES PRO, if you have less than 30 users good chance you have BES PRO.
