Default How to add incoming number to a new "mobile" number instead of "work"

Please Login to Remove!

Friends,

I wish to create a new addressbook contact for an incoming number from my call-log.

However, the incoming number is a mobile number. I wish to create a contact and make this as the "mobile" number of this contact. But, When I choose "add to address book" option from the call-log, the number gets automatically transferred to "work-1" number. I have to manually delete this and type it in "mobile" number column. Therefore, this prettymuch makes the option of "add to address book" useless.

Is it possible to add the incoming number to "mobile" number instead of "work-1" number? If so, How do I do this?

Thanks

Jay

No, you need to cut from the work field and paste into the mobile field.

Thanks for your clarification.

But, This (lack of sophisticaion) is disappointing. Blackberry needs to improve still.

At least you can cut/copy and paste, unlike a phone we all know and love. ;)

It is a business device, just the way it was designed to work. I believe if you get a text message from someone not in your address book and you add the number it will be placed in the mobile field.

Default business phone

That's because this is a business phone first and foremost. It would be nice to choose where the # goes but its understandable why the number goes there.

You are right. This is logical. However, I make almost all my calls from my pearl. I think this number is called "mobile". I do have my desk phone - which is what is "work" phone. I therefore believe that many of the incoming calls, though they are part of business, are "mobile" calls only.

How do we submit feature requests / suggestions to RIM?

Thanks

Instead of clicking on add to address book, why don't you just hit the copy option and then go to the address book and create a new contact and then paste it wherever you want?
