Software For BlackBerry® Pearl (TM) 8120 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.75 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.75
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.5.0.52
Software Platform: 2.7.0.66
File name: 8120M_PBr4.5.0_rel75_PL2.7.0.66_A4.5.0.52_Orange.e xe
File size: 81.21MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download here:

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8120:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device

To find the previous OS for this device: Click here

Note: Preinstalled wallpapers and custom folder icons are not included in this release.

Downloading and will load tonight after the bars - comments tonight or tomorrow. If I'm not mistaken this is the latest beta floating around for the 8120 as well just officially released now... if I'm wrong please correct me.

Sweet action! A question before I try it though. My 8120 came stock from Rogers with 4.5.0.37 installed. Is there ANY way that this would be in any way different from the 4.5.0.37 on the forums should I feel the need to downgrade from this new one? I'd like to get more out of my bb but not at the risk of losing something I may have now and being worse off than when I started

Its probably not any different at all. I would say its going to be a hell of a lot more stable then .37. I have .42 on my 8120 and I'm going to upgrade to this in about 2 seconds.

Seriously give it a whirl and you can always go back to .37 if need be.

Yeah I just took a chance and upgraded it. So far so good. I don't really notice anything different. Maybe a little better with the UMA connection

Okay, this has never happened before. Went to load it and dm tells me a fatal error occurred and it could not be updated. I am trying again and it wont connect to my bb and when I try to it is asking for a password to connect!? Password? I've never had to do this before... nor do I ever remember setting a password for anything.

No idea when TMo will release. It could be next week or next month, or longer.
