Please Login to Remove!

Does a user's personal settings (i.e. sound preferences, viewing prefences, etc) get sync'ed on the BES server? Not sure what does/does not get sync'ed from the phone to the BES sevrer

Ok..thanks...with that in mind...the reason i ask is a user may need to get his phone replaced. I know i can easily erase the device ,delete his BES account and recreate all from scratch...but...What is the correct procedure on the BES server when a user gets a replacement phone to be able to keep all the info/settings from the old phone? I would like to be able to sync his new phone with the settings/info from the old one

If you want to preserve the user's preferences, then do not remote wipe their handheld. Definitely do NOT delete their BES account. Deleting the BES account should be an absolute last resort when troubleshooting a problem that seems to be unfixable.

Leave their BES account alone. When they get a new handheld, just assign a new activation password and have them do an Enterprise Activation on the device.

About the only glaring omission I saw when I was testing, was that SMS messages don't appear to be included in Automatic Wireless backup (i.e., reactivating a user on a new handheld caused everything Hdawg's link reports to be pushed down. The only things the users and I noticed missing were the SMS messages. other than that, it works great!)
