So yesterday my pearl went caput! The device would no longer scroll down, just up and side to side. I had the phone for two months only..... a little concerned.
T mob replaced it on the spot, but I am still worried about the durablity of the rollerball.
Is it manufactured by the same folks who make the navigation ball on the sidekick?
Is this a common problem on sidekicks?
Any one else had their scroll wheel go bunk on them?
This has happened to a lot of people. Small particles get in there and block the movement. All you have to do is press down hard on the trackball and then move it around. It will clear whatever is blocking it.
did that, blew it out with compressed air, shook it, pulled battery, it worked the first couple of times it got stuck....but finally she kicked the bucket all together.
I work at a tmo store and see this once and awhile. You also may try an alcohol pad on the ball after blowing it out with compressed air. Just roll the pad around on the ball a few times. Cleans the gunk off the roller sensors. Also cleans the ball itself. We all know how important clean balls can be.
