Smile 7250 issues

I have a 7250. I have had it since 2006. Recently, it was discovered that my laptop had a boot sector virus and I had to basically wipe the hard drives and reinstall everything from scratch. I can not find the CD that came with the blackberry. I have been able to download the handheld software 4.1. Is there new software for my blackberry after 4.1? Would versions 5.0 + support my blackberry of the desktop manager? When I installed these, the desktop manager would not recognize my blackberry. In Control Panel, Admin Tools, Device manager, there is no yellow flag under usb. How do I rectify this issue?

By "handheld software 4.1" I assume you mean the OS or are you asking about Desktop Manager? For sure, OS 5 will not work on it.

I would use the earliest version of DM I could find. If it works, stick with it. the 7250 is so old, the newer versions of DM might not like it.

Do you know where I can find an early version on the internet for desktop manager?

Thanks for the response.
