hi guys

i just download a theme for my 9800 and is compatible for os 6.
does anyone know how to install it ...i went to options /display/screen display ..
down in that page it says the theme that i have but i can change it ...any help??

Is it compatible with your BB? Themes must be both device and OS compatible since the 9800 is a touch screen device.

And which device do you really have? The post says 9800 and you posted in the 9800 section, but your profile says 9700. If you do in fact have a 9800, please update your profile.

you are right i had 9700 now i have the 9800. i check that before download is compatible for my device and os 6...but i dont know how to install it..maybe can you tell what steps must do?

That statement sounds kind rude if you ask me. It's obviously difficult enough that you asked for help.

"Most" of the time, you just point your device browser at a URL for the theme, it downloads and installs. Assuming of course the theme has been created properly.

What is the name of the theme and where did you get it? Maybe ask the developer of the theme for assistance.

i wrote this because someone that have 9800 must change at least 1 theme.
the theme name is silvertone and i dwonload it from crackb....
but the point to know how i change themes in 9800.
can you give the steps for the change?

ok there was a problem on os 6 paltform with themes...
does anyone knows if the problem is fixed.?

Did you mean to say that you "can't" change it?

Once a theme is installed on your phone, that is the only place to find it and change to it. There is no other way.

If you are in that "Screen Display" screen, you should see your preloaded theme, which may be called something like "BlackBerry 6 for Vodafone". I'm only guessing because I'm going by what mine is called, which is "Blackberry 6 for AT&T". Below that should be any other theme you have installed. I've got 8 listed on mine that I've downloaded. Just scroll down to the one you want - for yours, it should be the only other one in the list. Highlight it and click on it. Give it a second to load all the new icons and you should be able to back your way out to the Home screen. You may have to do a battery pull to let everything reset to the new theme.

Here's what my screen to select a theme looks like:



It's not scrolled all the way down, there a couple more in the list, but it gives you an idea of what you should see.

By the way, if you downloaded the theme properly, it should have popped up a message after it was done telling you that a new theme was installed and if you want to switch to it now. I always say "no" at that pop-up, and wait to do it from the options.

the problem is that the downloaded themes are not shown in the list you show to me (but i found them on the list in applications) and when i downloaded i didnt get the regular message to install them. also the themes in my device are compatible
my OS is 6.0.0.337 and my carrier is vodafone maybe that Os has still problem with themes ????did you hear anything about that?

I have a 3rd party theme from The Theme Zone which was free and works well on OS 6. It was downloaded ota and it appears as a theme choice. Apparently the theme builder is still in beta and because of this the only issue is that on home screen it does not work properly when the torch is turned sideways.
Are you getting to the theme changing screen, as the Options menu for OS 6 is radically changed from that in OS 5 and earlier? Go to Options, Display, then Screen Display and scroll down to Themes. Your theme should be there. If not there is a problem with your theme. Try downloading it again ota.
