Email Folders

I have a user who upgraded form the 8830 to the Tour. One thing he mentioned that he did not like was when he would view his other email folders/subfolders that the entire folder tree would be expanded. He would collapse some of the folders then would reopen and they would all be auto expanded again. Is this by design, any way to change this or is he imagining things?
