For instance, locked means that you can use your Blackberry only using, like O2, Orange, AZ Verizons, only the company you bought it from. And unlocked means that you can use your BB with any Sim Card, any company. From Vodafone to O2. In order to get your phone unlocked you have to contact your Network administration or pay a website to do it.
