You can try. The splsh screen is based on the vendor code of the device. That vendor code is hard coded to the device and cannot be changed.

Maybe he could contact 360modworkz on this forum. I was informed by him that I was wrong about this type of stuff. Maybe he could solder in a new vendor code chip.

I bet that is possible. And I am sure it wouldn't cost much!

I do have another solution here. First, get 2 bowls. Fill the first one with water, and the second with hydrochloric acid. Remove the battery and replace. Immediately immerse the BlackBerry in the dish or water for 15 secs, making sure to press every button once while submerged. Next remove from water, follow the disassembly guide (that I made, shameless plug) for the 8300 series, and place all of the parts in the hydrochloric acid for ~30 mins. Remove, reassemble, power on and place back into the dish of water for 5 mins.

This should completely remove any trace that it is a T-Mobile branded device.

If my chemisrty knowledge is correct, wont this also remove any trace of the device?

Or just buy a new motherboard on ebay. That would change the vendor coding. $150

Freddy, no offense here...its really not possible. I was recently told I was wrong for saying its not possible to change the trackball color. This member told me I was wrong because the led's can be removed and new ones resoldered in.

The only way to do what you want is to replace the device with one from another carrier.

Well, the OP didn't specify that the device still had to work. I was simply giving him a solution to remove all T-Mobile branding.

I know several twelve year old kids that can do this in their sleep. They all know more about electronics that I do.

I understand from what you are all saying that I can't remove the TMO branding on a BB but is it possible to do on my ATT BB?

Shouldn't you put the BB in a bag of rice after leaving it in the hydrochloric acid?
That's critical.

Yes, but use very strong Sulfuric Acid instead.

I don't think it matters what company's phone you have. Those things are programmed deep in the firmware.
