Default Reqwireless WebViewer Vs. Build-In Browser

Please Login to Remove!

I am very impressed with the speed of Reqwireless Webviewer.
My only concern is that the Built-In Blackberry Browser uses over 900K, where as Requireless uses 50K.

By uninstalling the Built-In Browser and using only the Reqwireless WebViewer what am I missing in functionality, security, etc?
(The 850K has to be doing something?)

Thanks!

BlackBerry Browser in 4.0 on a BWC 4.0 works with some online banking websites now. I'm able to log onto http://www.cscoop.ca nowadays.

If you like to browse with images turned on, Reqwireless WebViewer 4.0 is much faster than BlackBerry Browser 4.0.

I think there is usefulness to having both installed. Some sites work better or faster in one than the other. But if you want SPEED in general, Reqwireless wins much more clearly now that BlackBerry Browser 4.0 is often slower than BlackBerry Browser 3.6.

(Using BlackBerry Browser 4.0 on BES 4.0 works faster than on BWC 4.0 though. Just so you know. However, Reqwireless 4.0 still seems faster, even if it's not ideal for all sites. Reqwireless REALLY shines on certain sites such as http://news.google.com with images -- it displays everything more than twice as fast as BlackBerry Browser 4.0.)

Also, you will need the Reqwireless browser to get into payal. It will not work with MDS browser.

According to paypal, they are wap 1.1 compliant and the MDS browser just takes a 500 error dump. I have tried all of the wap urls for paypal. None that I found or was told about by paypal work past the login screen.

I did find out that ebay works on the MDS, I thought it didnt, but I was using the html link. You need to use http://wap.ebay.com then it works just fine. Other than that, I have both browsers and I use the MDS one for everything else.

I have a Cingular 7290 and I'm using BWC (no BES). Using the Cingular built-in browser, I cannot access www.ebay.com or certain html sights. Do I need to upgrade the browser or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

I am very impressed at how quickly reqwirless webviewer works, I am actually on it right now as I reply. I think the wap browser is good for quick text info, but when it comes to the full web experience webviewer hands down.

I tried using it on my 7290 / Cingular, but got errors. Do I have to set up a new APN or WAP? If so, how? Thanks. (No BES)

Which version did you download Corporate or Personal? Some phone companies like Nextel, you have to use Corporate edition instead.

It does seem to be faster than BB to me. Some times I get an error message but nothing to worry about.
