Default Local Sychronization - No Data Plan

Please Login to Remove!

Gang:

Does anyone know if its possible to sych a blackberry via cable only and not have a data plan? I would like to get a curve and use it as a phone only, but keep the calendar and address book synched with outlook and avoid the $30/month data plan on AT&T. I don't need real time email or calendar updates, just a pocket reference to carry with me and sych from time to time.

Thanks.

Definitely possible. That is what my wife does with her 8120.
She synchs her address book, calendar and notes.

Of course. That's how most of us do it.

You need Blackberry Desktop Manager to sync with Outlook. It's free from RIM if you don't have the CD that came with the BB or if you want a newer version.

Most of us don't have a data plan and sync locally? Really...
