Unhappy Facebook app and Hijack of calender....

Please Login to Remove!

how can I stop Facebook app on Bold from taking over Calender book?

I unchecked the calender setting under facebook options however the app still keeps putting "facebook" as calender default again and again

thanks!

go to options-advanced-default services
change calendar to the default you want.

also remove the facebook [CICAL] service book.

Delete the FB application at Options > Advanced > Applications.

Set the correct default calendar per the instructions above.

Now, if you want, reload Facebook.

Options -> Advanced Options -> Default Services, change the CICAL entry to what your calendar was previously and you will be fine.

I ran into that same thing..

And after you have done as Steve suggests, try a battery pull. My daughter had to do that to 'make it stick'. With BlackBerry devices, a battery pull fixes a multitude of issues.

no - no matter how many times I do this, Facebook keeps putting itself as CICAL.

I delete, change, remove, etc - same result -

What do you mean by set to default, you don't mean "device default"?

Today themes will show the events in the Calendar you specify in the CICAL entry... It's usually cleaner to set the CICAL entry to one of your email address.. Because the "Device Default" tends to disappear, I've only seen the "Device Default" CICAL entry when their are no email address on the BB, and I have seen the "Device Default" CICAL entry disappear.

thanks but even when I set the CICAL to my default email address, and while using Facebook, facebook takes over the CICAL book no matter what I assign to it - after a battery pull I mean - hasn't anyone else using Facebook app seen this?

on a similar note, how do I set all my 167 cal items to a specific email address? Please dont tell me I have to redo them all!

Do you have your calendar synced with any application?

I'd either
A: Backup your whole calendar via the Desktop Manager
or
B: Sync your calendar with Outlook/Yahoo/etc. (Preferred)

Once you can do that, you can either restore or sync your calendar to your new device calendar (set in the Default Services/CICAL entry.)

so do you mean like this:

1. backup items
2. delete from device
3. set CICAL to preferred email account and delete others
4. re sync items

?

Backup/Sync you Calandar, go into the Backup/Restore part of the Desktop Manager and go into the Advanced section. Highlight your calendar and "Clear" it.. then set the CICAL entry to the one you want. Do a battery pull then restore the backup.

thanks but that doesnt work - I did precisely what you said and still the calender events fail to show up - I have to delete all the email CICAL addresses for ALL entries to show up on today theme.

oh well.
