Analysis of Blackberry Bold 9000 – Web opinions

Feedback Strands* (feedbackstrands) has analyzed opinions voiced on the web on Blackberry Bold 9000 during the period August 01, 2008 to May 26, 2009 by studying them on some web sites. This note is a brief summary of our observations – they are based on a sub set of opinions voiced and may not reflect a completely representative view of consumer opinions.

Consumers appear to have given “thumbs up” to Blackberry Bold 9000 – the model received “Net Feedback” (% positive opinions - % negative opinions) score of 53. It received 73% positive opinions and 20% negative opinions. The rest were ambiguous opinions.

The most spoken about attributes appear to be the body, browsing, battery, price, music and video, display, camera, design and software. Of these, attributes with most positive were body, music and video, software and browsing.

Blackberry Bold 9000 is seen as one-stop device for business applications. The body of the mobile gives “professional-like” appearance. The users who are involved in lots of messaging and emailing have appreciated the soft keypad and easy controls as they help in faster typing of text. The software has many business application programs like weather eye, multimedia etc. that are useful for different types of users. The software also has tight security features that ensure the user, privacy and secrecy of their work. Browsing becomes fast and easy due to the wi-fi connectivity. The screen clarity and bright display is also liked by most of the users. Those who like to listen to music or watch videos have appreciated the noise reducing headset and clear speaker sound.

There are also some attributes with negative opinions, like camera, price, battery, design, etc. Some customers have experienced that the battery drains off quickly when 3G and wi-fi applications are used. A few customers feel that the design of the device is not robust that makes the device vulnerable to break down. There appear to be some pain points with camera particularly with focus, which many customers feel is not proper for very large or very small distances. Many customers find the product highly priced.

On balance, Blackberry Bold 9000 seems an appealing proposition.
