Default Need a web browser- Bold! on TMo

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Bold and Tmo as my provider. It has been brought to my attention that I will not be able to have a web browser with Tmo, due to the fact that Tmo is not gonna carry the Bold. Is there some web browsing software I can install to surf the web normally? I DID see Opera Mini mentioned. I will also need some instructions on the procedure!

Thanks so much!

Just grab a friends ATT sim card and download OperaMini and you should be able to surf just fine.

Wirelessly posted (8310; RammerJammer!)

@ Bigrob, Whoever told you that is goofy. You will get the BlackBerry Browser as soon you get a Data plan.

Thanks folks! I was told this by a member on this forum when I was asking why I had no MMS messaging. They said they believe this is a Bold/T-Mobile problem, like getting a web browser. Since T-Mobile USA has no intention of carrying the Bold there may be no solution.
I CAN tell you this, I do not have MMS and spoke to numerous Tmo techs in the BB/PDA dept and they never did say it was because they do not offer the bold, but they did not remedy the problem either. They did all they needed to, supposedly, on their end, and I registered my highlited host rtng tble # but to no avail!
Anyway, I believe I DO have a data plan. I have everything that Tmo offers in the BB internet service area. I have EDGE. Edge is a data network is it not?

Default No Web Browser or MMS W/T mobile & the Bold

Well I spoke to a BB/PDA Tmo tech today and he has a memo stating these 2 items are not available at this time with the Bold and Tmo! He recommended dowloading the Opera Mini program. He also said it is a good possibility they will come available when the phone has been on the market a little time longer.

If you guys know something different, I'm all ears!!

Thanks!!

no need to post a new thread on the same issue...

**merged with old thread**

** and entire thread moved over to the 9000 series section**

I am surprised by this, as others are using the Bold unlocked on Tmo, and I have not noticed the lack of a browser being reported by others. Perhaps so, just odd to me.

How difficult or easy is installing opera mini? Is this the best generic web browser to install?

Very interesting - I have switched SIM on my BBs with different providers and never does the browser disappear once it has become available.
Perhaps if you stuck in a SIM with another provider, registered the device (to push the service books) and then replaced the SIM with the TMO one you would have a browser.

Another member mentioned this and I may have to try it. A friend is on AT&T. I downloaded the link to opera mini, but need a hot spot to connect to the link. We'll see how it goes!

Thanks!

There is no browser or MMS service book for the Bold in T-Mobile's system. Thus they will not be available to use. Either download Opera Mini and live without MMS or follow these steps to fix the issue: http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/how...ed-bold-81554/

bigrob,

I also have an unlocked Rogers Bold using TMO. If you have WiFi turned on you will have the hotspot Browswer. And you can use it to download operamini too
