Default Latest OS: 9530 5.0.0.808/5.0.0.419 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.808 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 5.0.0.808
Consisting of:

* Applications: 5.0.0.419
* Software Platform: 4.2.0.179
* File name: 9530AMEA_PBr5.0.0_rel808_PL4.2.0.179_A5.0.0.419_Be ll_Mobility_Inc.exe
* File size: 111.61MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...646D38BC2145CA

Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 9530:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Strange that this is almost identical to the previous version (5.0.0.674/5.0.0.419) except that the package version has increased to 5.0.0.808. Also this was released on February 12th, 2010 and the radio file was created on February 8th, 2010. There could be some minor bug fixes in this release...

Maybe mobile banking will work on this release. Anybody find a work around for the permissions issue?

I think Verizon last pushed .323, which had some issues.

I ran .328 beta and recently just upgraded to .419.

Bro, you should have definitely read up on this process before wiping your phone.

It's rather easy. There is a complete set of instructions for wiping and reinstalling the OS using BBSAK on Crackberry.

Default Facebook App

I upgraded to this version just yesterday from the slightly older official release from Bell. Everything seems to be working well but I am having a slight issue with the BB Facebook application. In particular, the alerts I receive and try to access withing the app are like the ones from older versions of the app (ie I get a link that would take me to the website in order to respond instead of allowing me to do so within the app). Is anyone else having this issue?

How were you able to download the OS? I've been trying since last night but BB.com just keeps saying "we're sorry, the file is temporary unavailable". Something like that.

Going by the many posts in the BB page in the Facebook app website, this issue appears to be related more to that app or service and not this upgrade.

However, something very weird happened just a few minutes ago. Despite me having no issues with my phone since upgrading a couple of days ago, it went a little bonkers on me. To be more precise, certain buttons would not work properly. One of convenience buttons is set to open the Media folder but all it does is open it briefly before going back to the main screen. Holding down the BB button shows the Switch Application but only briefly as well. After three battery pulls, now it seems some buttons are switched. Now the left convenience button acts like the Off button and nothing happens when I press the BB button.

It also lags at times and becomes unresponsive at others. Furthermore the phone resets every few minutes if I don't use it.

I am not sure if this is related to the upgrade but just to be safe I am going back to the previous official release in hopes this solves the issue. Anyone else suffer similar issues or even heard of something like this before?

Default Device Memory

Thanx for latest OS for 9530, I have wiped my phone with this version, I question I have:-

Memory Device is showing
Total Space - 879.2 MB
Free Space - 878.6 MB

Phone promts me to removed unwanted/unused applications-data in order to free space.

Any Idea as whats the resolution to this?

Rgds,
Piyush
