Default Tour OS 5.0 upgrade on Verizon?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a newbie as you can see, I have had my blackberry for 3 months. I have v4.7.1.61 on my tour and I was wondering if there is an upgrade for Verizon tour customers to either 5.0 or anything newer then what I have.

Upgrade to the 5.0.0.419 OS posted on the 'sticky' at the top of this forum. Follow the instructions and you will have a stable 5.0. I am on Verizon and have been running this OS for about two weeks. ALL is good! Verizon will be the LAST carrier to release 5.0, that you can count on.

Wirelessly posted (Lets Go Canes!)

Yes. Don't wait for the carrier. Make sure to follow the directions explicity in the sticker. Because the file above is NOT from Verizon, you have to delete the vendor.xml file which is explained above.

I have had 5.0 for about a week now on verizon and I feel its more stable than .61. .61 kept crashing on me and not allowing programs to work.

I'm running MTS's 5.0 on my Tour right now with no problems or bugs that I have found yet.

Me too. On Sprint. Perfectly stable build, and carrier-agnostic.

Are any of you that are on VZW and using 5.0 also on BES? I am curious if there are any issues to be considered there?

I am running 5.0.0.419 and I am on a BES. My BES connection is a private subscription, not a corporate account, but I don't believe that should make a difference. I have not experienced any issues. My Tour is running superbly.

I upgraded my Verizon Tour to 5.0. Running on corporate BES 4.1 with Exchange. Had problems with attachments not coming through. Moved to BES 5.0 and everything works fine.

I've been running OS 5.00.419 since it was leaked and very stable OS; even with BES w/ S/MIME!

I took the .484 plunge and am having good results. Battery does well (2.0% on seido 2600mah) with couple hrs of talk, web surfing, games, etc.......radio reception is maybe the best I've had, it's a little too early to say for sure.

Hi all, not to ask a noobish question, but can the Verizon users verify whether I'll be able to keep my Visual Voice Mail with this update?

I have not seen any negative feedback about visual voicemail and .484. Then again, I use YouMail
