Redownloaded the latest version... horizontal still doesn't seem to do anything.

Just redownloaded...side-to-side scrolling on my 8130 does nothing. Only vertical scrolling moves the selection.

But...biggest change to help usability for me would be to allow both click or enter to execute move, rather than only enter. It's easier to scroll to a tile and just click the trackball, rather than having to then move your finger and press Enter.

This is a highly frustrating puzzle!

It's even more frustrating, cause you have to do steps 101+ in your head. Caffeine isn't working this Monday, so I can't track past step 200 or so.

When my girlfriend saw the puzzle, it said : "This is easy" ... then came the frustration
It's an amazing mind challenge.

I will have a new and full version out, later today. Get ready for more frustration.

Spoiler: There is one certain piece that has to be moved to a certain position to allow the solving of the puzzle. If you play it long enough, you will see that there is an entire strategy to be used, and each piece has it's purpose as you solve through it. It's a very nice and complex puzzle

I have this puzzle in wooden block form and play it every now and then. It is a real challenge.

The minimum number of moves is 81. I've only been able to solve it in 104 moves.

@Ariel: Thanks for the info. I will definately make a contest for who solves it in lesser moves, with a hefty prize to go along with it.

Cool! Now I have to brush up on this game and remember the patterns.

Can you add a move counter in the next version to keep track automatically?

Hey Ariel,
There is a move counter at the bottom.

What screen resolution does your device have? Mine is 240x260
I still have to write some code for the game to properly display on all resolutions.

The counter does not show up on newer devices (like my 8830). The bottom 20 pixels get cut off, and there is an unused section on the right, where it could be placed on higher res devices.

The 83xx and 88xx series devices are both 320x240 I believe.
The bold is 480x320.
The Storm is um... more?

Hello everyone,

I made a new demo version available.
Here are some changes:

- Clicking the trackball allows you to change the move direction. (Let me know if it works for clicking the trackball aswell)
- The counter is now displayed on the left side, for devices that have a landscape oriented screen
- Proper display of the game area and background, regardless of your display resolution.
- 150 moves allowed in this demo. The puzzle can be solved in 81 however

Just download it again from the same links.

Enjoy the game and let me know if there are any bugs.

I just solved it in 93 moves... Darn you for making an addictive game. 81? Hmm... Not sure where I'm gonna find 12 to knock off.

Oh and you have an error in your jad file... You have an invalid reference to a second cod file I think.

Congrats!
Actually both .cod files are in the original .cod (cod inside cod?).
I noticed the error in my server.

Have you managed to install the game?

Also, does it display ok? (centered on screen, visible move counter)?

Thanks!

It would not install for me when I tried about an hour ago. Are the install files fixed yet?

Download working now.

On my 8830. The playing board is now centered, but the moves still aren't displayed.

As for the trackball. Pressing it in still does nothing and neither does moving left and right. The API for the wheel and the ball are slightly different (navigationClick instead of trackwheelClick I think)

85 now.

I don't know what my screen resolution is. I have an 8330.

I downloaded the latest version, v 1.03, and I still don't see the move counter.

@Redflea: I bet you absolutely DON'T want to know what the next game will be

@arieltf: Counter positioning fixed. Just redownload and it should show up on your device, on the right side of the board.
