Bridge Over Wifi
Please Login to Remove!
Greetings,
The bluetooth on my phone keeps turning off.
The manual says that I can use BlackBerry Bridge over wifi, but it doesn't say how to set it up. How do I enable this?
Thanks,
Shane.

Re: Bridge Over Wifi
No, the manual states that once both devices are paired over Bluetooth, they share the same WiFi connection. It says nothing about Bridging abilities over WiFi.
The order it tries to connect to the network is;
PlayBook's WiFi
Device WiFi
Device Mobile Network (Data Plan)

Re: Bridge Over Wifi
I tried to post a link to the BlackBerry website, but I got an error. So, I will just quote the manual, which says...
"When your smartphone and tablet are connected using BlackBerry Bridge, and both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, BlackBerry Bridge apps can exchange information between your devices using Wi-Fi instead of a Bluetooth connection."

Re: Bridge Over Wifi
Shane,
Bridging is done via Bluetooth.
When your smartphone and tablet are connected using BlackBerry Bridge, AND both devices are connected to the same WiFi network.

Re: Bridge Over Wifi
Yes, but the devices STILL need to be connected via Bluetooth. And then if they are both connected to the the WiFi, the information transfer will happen over the WiFi instead of the Bluetooth (and thus it should be faster). It does not negate the requirement for the devices to be securely connected via Bluetooth.
Shane, you are misinterpreting it.
The pertintent part is the very FIRST sentence.
When your smartphone and tablet are connected using BlackBerry Bridge, and both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network

Re: Bridge Over Wifi
So, once the Bridge connection is made, information is transferred over WiFi? How do I set this up?
