Free Application Resource Monitor - Download Application Resource Monitor - Free Apps from BlackBerry App World

Application Resource Monitor (ARM) is an application that provides a service that will monitor third party applications to watch for background system resource abuse (which causes accelerated battery depletion) and will automatically close these applications.

-ARM monitors applications that are not in the user's focus:
-When an application is in the background
-All applications when the display backlight is turned off
-Users are notified of applications via the notification banner
-Users are able to disable automatic closing of applications
-Users can tell ARM to not monitor the application via the notification
-Available for BlackBerry 7.1 only

I would love this! Too bad I'm on 5.0.

I overslept one morning because it terminated the alarm on my 3rd party alarm app. I was thinking about deleting it. If you are navigating using GPS and and BlackBerry Traffic or other navigation app, and it terminates the nav app, that could be problematic.

You also have the ability to 'whitelist' an app, so that the ARM doesn't even monitor the power consumption. I had to do that for two apps.

I checked and there is no option to remove it. So whitelisting is the answer.

Yes, current builds include the arm, but maybe future builds will not. Then RIM would want to ensure that people still had access to the module(as a stand alone app)

It's actually pretty good that you do not see a difference, it means your installed/running apps do not suck a lot of juice, and do not chew memory.
