Thanks

It doesn't have 3g, it's too old of a device.

This article explains a bit behind the technology.

None of the 81xx Pearls have 3G.

But, the upcoming new Pearl 9100 will have 3G.

Some would argue that the CDMA based 8130 was 3G.
But the 8100 - the original question - does not have 3G.

Both are correct statements.

Is a BOLD the best value one to get?
I find Blackberries in general a bit bulky but I need it for email and internet access and some applications I use specifically designed for Blackberry.
The iPhone is too expensive and Nokie E71 too new and therefore expensive.

The E71 is new? It's been around for 2 years...

too new...in price terms it is still expensive for a phone.
I just want something cheap with 3G capability and either a web browser or something like the Blackberry where specific apps have been made for it.
Blackberry 9000.

On contract they are about 30 bucks here, without around 450. I'm surprised it costs so much where you live, especially with new phones coming out every month.

That's the issue
I don't take phones on contract so I just need something I can put a SIM card in that has 3G and that has a web browser or it's the Blackberry for 1 specific app.
