Default newbie questions

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to migrate from a Palm Tungsten C to a Blackberry 7750.

I can't figure out how to sync my Outlook contact subfolders. The BB will only sync the main folder. To do this on my Tungsten, I had to purchase some 3rd party software.

Question #2: How can I sync my old Outlook appointments to the BB calendar. I can only seem to view future appointments.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

On 1, I don't know.

On 2, Open the BB Desktop Manager, open Intellisync, click Configure pim, advanced, calendar, configure, advanced settings.

To answer #1

Open desktop manager, double click Intellisync.

Click configure PIM

Highlight PIM application (calendar, tasks ect.) and click Choose.

Now click Browse at the bottom.

find and select your sub folder and add it or remove the default folder then re add it back it should ask you if you want to include subfolders.

Hope that helps!

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the help, guys. It's too bad that BB doesn't let me import the contact category folders as well. Is there are 3rd party app that will correct this?

I believe that the software update to OS4.0 will allow contact categories. This update should be out around late October or early November I believe. Hope you enjoy your blackberry!

Yes, I am using 4.0.0.124 and can confirm that there are categories for contacts, addressbook, notes and tasks.

The 7100 absolutely does support categories in the address book. Are you using the latest version of the desktop manager? (3.6.3.11)

I am using 3.7.1.31. I know I can create groups but I don'y think I can import categories from Outlook - that's what I really want to do. Creating groups for about 1000 contacts (I'm in sales) would be very time consuming.

How do I get 4.0??

Probably not, but he's definatly using 4.x and he's right that 3.8 has categories too.

I really wish PocketMac used 'em. I will request that feature ASAP. :D
