I am using Blackberry 7230 making phone calls, but since yesterday, the blackberry keep turning itself off after a few minutes say 5 minutes. It shows a busy cursor symbol. I had to power it off.

Anybody experienced the same problem?

I have never had that happen to me, although I do not use my 7230 for phone calls. You might try a full hard reset by pulling the battery. That may clear things up if it happens continuously.

For future reference, you should be able to reset via Alt+Cap+Backspace. It seems as hard a reboot as re-seating the battery. I use this since it's a lot less fumbling around to reboot.

Yup, you can do that also!

but not in 4.0 -- they have set it so that ALT-CAP-DEL only resets the radio -- and in some cases manages to generate a SIM card error

might want to check the handset software version and if there is an update for it. with the 6710 model, this was an issue that was resolved through updating the software. i haven't had an issue with mine doing this since.

and this is one area that the Blackberry is superior to the Treo 600. my co-workers who have T600 (about 5-7 of them) all complain of their phones rebooting.

That is the plan. I am not as knowledgeable as most here, but I have had my share of problems, and have been helped out by people on these forums. So what I have to share...I will!

If you've had it a while take teh battery out, use an eraser to clean the contacts on the battery and inside the phone. Sometimes the contacts corrode (dissimilat metals, body moisture etc) and it causes problems.
Before Iwent too far thats worth a shot.
