My Red message light stays lit even after opening my e-mails and messages. What would cause that?

Could be anything from a software misread to a hardware malfunction, first try deleting any and all emails, SMS, MMS, etc.

First step.. Do a battery pull that should fix it.. Unless there is an email in the saved messages folder or somewhere else..

10 to 1 a battery pull will fix your issue.
