I was very excited to get this new upgrade 30 mins ago but after reading through 7 pages of bugs (well not all are but you get the point
), i decided to stick with my Cingular OS.

Very disappointed with RIM. I think my new phone will not be a BB.

I've posted this within this same thread and i am experiencing all the bugs you've mentioned, specially the repeating letter while on multitap and entering alpha in any field (while in multitap mode), SureType seems to get rid of my frustration and actually been forced to use SureType because of that annoying bug.

P.S. We should start a better OS petition to correct all the bugs you've mentioned.
Count me in for whatever you want to start. How about starting a vote for a petition?

I don't know the answer to that... but either way I didn't know you could do that!!! Very good thing for me!

Question I get an error when installing this OS

Hi,
When I try to install the OS I get this error:
"Error reading setup initialization file"
Does this mean that the file is corrupt?
Or am I doing something wrong

File dwnloaded:
8100M_PBr4.2.1_rel148_PL2.3.0.77_A4.2.1.94_Rogers. exe

Been running 148 now for a while and haven't had the audio problem that was an issue with the prev. 4.2.1 release. (audio would drop out on calls until reset) but it definately still has the alpha dialing issue

I'm getting the same issue. I tried downloading the file again but same problem. Anyone found a work-around for this?

Disregard. Forgot to do DM upgrade. Downloading now so we'll see if that cures what ails me!

Since upgrading I don't seem to be receiving all my texts. Never had a problem with that before but it seems lately I'm missing at least 2-3 texts a day.

Anybody else having this issue?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Idecided to wipe my phone and reload a fresh OS. While my phone is Now snappy , I noticed the only way to get my phone to connect to j cmndr was to leave the battery in.

Is normal? Because the phone wouldn't connect any other way.

I upgraded a couple versions in the past with the Italy OS being the last and thats was it for me no more until its official from my carrier.

if you press the call button you'll see the phone log. highlight the entry you want, and hit the menu button, select 'View History', then hit the menu button again and you'll see 'Add Notes'.

Since upgrading, I've had the worst experience with consistent dropping of calls, data service moving to GPRS, poor quality in voice. Just bad all around.. back to .64 I go. Jeez..

You broke it. It is no good. You might as well send it to me and I'll do *something* with it.

No, just kidding. 507 means no OS. Plug the BB back in, open desktop manager. Click on "Connection" at the top and select USB. Then open Application Loader and load the OS on to the BB. My guess is you may have unplugged it too early. It's not dead.

Ok, take back my last comment. The audio dropping problem is still there, just not as bad. I can't beleive they are actually releasing this software with these blatent bugs to cariers, their customers must be freaking. I'm rolling back to the old version once again and waiting for RIM to ge ttheir act together on fixing this.
