Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 9000: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Yeah all you have to do is get a Windows Mobile device. Just out of curiosity...why would you want to do this?

True that =D. I have a Dell Axim x51v running WM5 that I use for some things that can't run on BB (iSilo, etc.). I don't think I'd want to rely on it for a phone though. Maybe WM6 will be more stable as some reports have indicated.

I really don't understand the reason for the OP's question though.

you know the first thing that passed through my mind was the same . . . why would you leave the BBOS for WM. WM was the reason i chose not to get TREO.

My wife and I came from Treo 750's and still can't figure out what took us so long to go to a BB. We love the Pearl.

I had to troubleshoot a doctor's Ipaq (2790b) yesterday and that thing froze up on me at least six times within ten minutes.

Well, for people that know nothing of the two, there may be reasons. Honesty before I did my research, I was more attracted to the Windows Mobile OS just because of the way it looks, I guess it has more appeal at first.

WM does have some appeal, but (for me) not the same functions. I would rather have a BB for email and phone, but a WM PPC is good for PIM, media, and other apps. One advantage to WM is that it integrates seamlessly with Outlook/Exchange right out of the box. I just don't think there is a true all-in-one device solution. I love having my BB with me all the time and it is very reliable for phone calls and especially email. OTOH my Dell Axim x51v with its 624 MHz processor performs many tasks very efficienly and doesn't ever really lock up on me.

Also the ability to play WMV files, view HTML email and a few other things every pda or device but a BB can do.

I like my Pearl but whenever I upgrade next its not going to be another BB I dont think.

Curiosity seems to always get the best of me. I just moved to Cingular and got a Pearl. Then decided I wanted to give Windows Mobile yet another shot so I bought the new HTC S710 with Mobile 6 from Mobile Planet. Very cool features and an interesting form factor. There is no denying Windows has gotten a little better and the ability to record video and all the other cool little features make it a viable option, just not for me. The memory issues are still prevalent and the lag on the O/S is still there. I'm back to my Pearl and will be on the 8300 as soon as it hits. You'd think I would have learned by now. One phrase always comes to mind..."Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in."

Yes, but HTML email has just become available on Windows Mobile 6, right? Security is why BB doesn't do this, at least yet, so we have to remember that convenience and security are often enemies.
