Default New icon... what does it mean?

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry for the poor quality photo, if someone needs something better let me know.

It just appeared this morning for the first time. I'm using the Zen theme on a 7100i and it only displays in the messages or phone application. On the main icon screen it disappears. It sits right next to the new email notification and it originally was the same number of new unread mail (in this case 2) but it did not disappear after viewing the messages.

If it's not apparent in the attached image the message icon is tilted to the right (the regular one is straight) and there is a little red star on the top left.

Any help would be appreciated. I want to make it go away. ;)

Wirelessly posted (7100I: BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

Is it the icon for sms or mms. That is 1 of the new icons on the zen theme.

That was it. Thanks. I've never received or sent SMS on this device due to the poor support for the 7100i.

SMS stands for Short Message Service. This is a method of sending small text messages between mobile phones, usually up to 160 characters of text. This behaves like an email, except the address is simply the phone number of your recipient mobile phone or BlackBerry. SMS is very popular in some countries such as UK, and especially popular with the young urban crowd in developed countries. SMS is also a popular substitute for email for people in poorer countries.

I know what SMS is, the 7100i just has very poor support for the service which is why I've never used it.

I also just upgraded the device to the latest OS to take advantage of Zen so I'm not familiar with some of the icons that it uses (and I couldn't find any documentation about them).

Thanks for the help though.

LOL.

I had a very similar problem with BB Messenger.

I got this number on my screen, went to calls, sms...couldn't get rid of the number. Nothing new there. I just couldn't figure out what I hadn't read that I had received, apparently.
Then it occured to me. BB Messenger!
