the next flagship berry will simply be a very minor variation of what is already available... nothing new, nothing revolutionary, nothing to get excited over... RIM is a dinosaur... they have yet to show proof that they are pushing the envelope or developing anything competitive... Android, iPhone and WebOS are all slowly leaving BB OS in the dust...

There are times when this board needs more smilies, in this case the facepalm one seems like it would be ideal as another sheep parrots the ongoing internet meme that blackberry is doomed.

If blackberry is so bad how about giving specific examples of what they need to change and why they can't do so in an evolutionary manner. Clearly the browser needs to improve, but we already know thats happening, 3rd party app support needs to be better, but that is steadily getting better.

What else is screwed on their OS, obviously they destroy their competitors when it comes to security and other business-related features, voice quality and performance are up there with the best handsets (which isn't iphone, android or palm), its messaging, IM, social networking are all very good and its multimedia support continues to improve, so how exactly are they a dinosaur?

With the way blackberry works with various carriers you don't really have a flagship product, for most it would be the 9700, but I doubt VZW would agree with you, so maybe the question should be about premium products rather than flagship ones and in the shortterm the first of those we will see are the next Tour and the Stratus. The next Bold-class product isn't likely to show up before the end of this year or rather in time for the holidays that is.

A 1mhz processor and 5MP would be nice. Needed? Prob not, but it would be good to shut those "haters" up.

If anything is needed...it is the web browser. Definately need to do something about that. And i'll say it....memory. Yes they just bumped it up, and its good for NOW. But wait till new things start coming out, i'm pretty sure this 256mb of flash memory is going to end up being nothing (126mb really).

As if it would shut them up, they'll just stick to the same tired old drivel that the Blackberry OS needs to be totally replaced and is broken now when the reality is far from that.

unbelievable how many on this board can't take a bit of criticism when it comes to their beloved blackberries... my comment was meant to elicit a response... but obviously many think RIM doesn't need to change a thing... BBs are great devices, I love mine... but let's not be ignorant to progress...

Yep - that's me.
So people made fun of a rambling post. And yet another "what I want to see" post. Big deal
