Default Unlocked 9530 users.. Have you lost EDGE on .99?

Please Login to Remove!

Just a question for you unlocked 9530 Storm users on .99, have you lost EDGE signal. Ever since I upgraded all I can get is edge or even worse, GSM. Another firmware release and another flop it seems. Back to .85 I go.

I saw a little snippet on BGR and it may be RIM and not the OS.

No problems with EDGE for me excpet for the outages/problems RIM is having right now. You can always go into your mobile network screen and hit menu, change preferred network. Try that. ATT has two currnet networks still running. one is 310/410 newer-uses 1900 i think. 310/380 little older still work (better than 410 in some area's) is 850 i think. give a try Dont really know about t-mobile though but in theory you could try a att tower and it would just be like roaming.

If you are having loss of EDGE issues on .99 or .95, you can delete the file located at the UMTS folder at
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\*your OS installed file*\CDMA
and replace in that folder the file from the same located from your installed version of .90 (or the last OS that held EDGE good for you).

Then, run the OS upgrade to .95 or .99

J,

what if you dont have a UMTS folder, just a CDMA folder? would the file in there i.e. -rim0x04001404.sfi would that be teh same thing. Just replace that file with the one from .90?

I was getting ready to give up on this unlocked Storm but the advice of using the file in the CDMA directory from .90 did the trick. EDGE since yesterday afternoon.
