It has been nearly a month since people on the forum began using the TIM release. I have read of some people down grading back and some people loving it. What is the verdict? Does it improve anything worth while, or does it bring more bugs then benefits? For those of you that have done the upgrade:
I personally love it. I have been using it for 1 month or so right now. 2 Thumbs way up. They improved a lot in it if you read the forum you will see all the changes and additions. There are a few bugs espically if you are on a BES. I found several bugs but disconnecting and reconnecting to the BES fixed it for me.
I have to say it has a lot of cool features but too many bugs. I have been using it for about a week and some times when I make a call the phone will not send the call to the handset, speaker phone or bluetooth device the person I called can here me but all I here is poping and garbled words (signal strength is allways 2+ bars). The only thing that fixes it is a battery pull the wierd thing is that it only happens on outgoing calls.
-How long have you been using it?: Since the day it was released
-Thumbs up or Thumbs down?: One up, One down. I love some features but not so much on others
-Improvements/Fixes:
- Put the option to switch between SureType and MultiTap by using the */SYM key back
- Keep the list option (although this can be fixed with JavaLoader)
- Put the option to Save/Discard/Cancel back for the Alarm. Its confusing that it doesn't do that since every other app does
-Found Bugs:
- Some issues with GoogleTalk and those null exception errors
- That bug where it changes your APN and the browser launches and fails
- The bug I have with my phone, more specifically, the phone cuts off, although the call is still connected. I think it may happen when my signal goes in and out, like on my commute.
I am sure there is stuff I am missing or just don't know about.

The video playing is definitely improved. The alarm not going off until the user actually presses a key is a plus. The ability to the turn on the AutoDim is good. The calculator is, visually, a lot easier to use. The new options for the Browser are awesome. The SureType improvement is my favorite upgrade/fix.
So I'd have to go with two thumbs up. =)

I've had it for a few days now. It's cool, but the only problem I seen to have is that when I tried to read a MMS message it gave me an error and had to reorganize my messages. I dont really get to many MMS messages anyway so it no big deal I just hit reply and view them that way intil a better version drops.
I've been using it since the day it came out, and it's one thumb up one down. The major issue for me is that sometimes after connecting a call (either incoming or outgoing) the sound gets cut off and neither party can hear the other party. Having either party call back results in same problem, while calls 15-30 min later may work. The only immediate solution I have found is a battery pull, but that of course incapacitates the phone for a few minutes right when I want to make a call.
I am on T-Mobile, and I saw this reported as a problem in the first couple of weeks after TIM came out, and I am surprised that nobody mentioned it as an issue here. Has it been somehow resolved?
Just upgraded and it's awesome so far. Favorite feature has to be the seperate folder for sms/mms messages. Right after that would be the ability to turn off autodim. Working great so far!
