How do updates work anyways? Is it automatically done? Or am I going to have to download something?

You'll have to download the update from the T-Mobile site and then use the desktop manager to perform the OS update.

No, just follow the instructions. There's NO need for JL_Cmder unless you run into problems.

Default Please Read!!

If this really does come out this weekend:

Folks, I believe NJBlackberry. PLEASE make sure you have a copy of .171 that is available now for download to downgrade to when it causes more problems than it fixes.

Just download it now and save it for future use, if/when needed.

WiFi performance was worse; UMA/EDGE handoff was worse.
Frankly, I had it on for 24 hours and backed off.

Were there any improvements at all to justify the upgrade? Or was it entirely worse?

For those that are having problems, I would have three questions:

1. Did you back up from an old device?

2. Are you using the T-Mobile router?

3. Is your broadband speed greater than 768K?

My answers are no, yes, and yes respectively and I have not had any issues.
NO, Yes, Yes... UMA is still unreliable from my location. but thanks for the tech support.

180 isn't out yet but .175 is and it's an improvement.

I wouldn't trade this phone for anything.. well, except maybe pearl2 because i really liked the size of the buttons on the pearl - but prefer qwerty over suretype..but anyway.

i say 'great job tmo, i love it'
Couldn't agree more. In fact, all this talk about trading in devices worries me that if I ever need to swap out mine, I'll get a dud. Nevertheless, this little thing has been nothing but super!
