You might have the app icon hidden in a folder. I had this problem in the beginning but i solved it by making all of my icons visible.

Default Won't show up under facebook

I used to get the facebook icon to appear on the homescreen when I had a new message but now it shows up under the blackberry messages. How do I get it to show the facebook icon again? It was nice because I could at the phone and tell right away it was a notification from facebook. Thanks in advance

I've had this same issue today and it started after I did a battery pull. I've managed to get rid of the Facebook notification that came up and wouldn't leave, but I've also got 2 text message notifications that have come up and won't go either. I've tried the same thing (going to the date and marking prior as opened) but it's not working? i've deleted all my old text messages too.

This worked for me with the Facebook icon but now I'm having the same problem with the (new) Twitter application/icon.

Can anyone help me please?
