I've decided not to bother doing another upgrade until the official release, as the .238 runs really great and I'm getting excellent performance from my device. But I'm just curious.

Thanks
How are ya???great article... thinking about to do the upgrade... however got a few questions for ya....

1. I have BuzzMe Pro so would the this app work with the 5.0

2. I have SocialScope... I suspect that it should be ok

3. I have downloaded a few themes - I suspect that these themes should work too.

As you can see I am not very BB or computer literate so your help would be great for me to take the plunge

Lastly... I need a detailed step-by-step guide to do the upgrade... can you give me some directions as to where I can get this instructions. Thanks a bunch!!

For my part, I am extremely pleased with v5.0.0.314. My Bold is running smooth and fast. I am also liking the threaded SMS feature among other things. I've had no rebooting issues so far and BBM works like a charm too.

Another question, when I go to delete a text message it deletes the conversation first then I have to delete the number a second time, is that by design?

I think (hope) that is a glitch with .314 and it will be fixed when OS 5 is ready for official release. It does that to mine too, particularly when I 'Delete Prior'. It also keeps the conversations bolded in the message list, even when I mark all messages opened.

Does anyone know if the new video recorder allows one to save finally in mpeg-4 instead of the incredibly awful 3gp format? I like to save videos for vlogging, or whatever I like to record, not for mms. I like the option to save in either format as all of my old Nokia phones did.

And do you know if one can finally use dd/mm/yyyy format? I am surprised, since RIM is Canadian, officially (in the legal sense of the word) they use both formats.

AGREED!!!

Although the "Media" folder on the home screen is called "net_rim_bb_file_explorer.Media". Anyone know how to rename that to just "Media?

Well, I now have my first glitch. It its BBM 5.0.33 which worked nicely for a while and now has "disappeared" from my unit. It is still shown in the applications but no shortcuts or any way of opening it. I searched every folder on my unit, enabled the "show everything" to view every icon, but still no luck.

I tried to "over" install the app, but that did nothing either. Any thoughts?

This may seem like a silly possible fix, but it happened to me... I couldn't see it in the home screen (or subfolders) either.

Go to the Application Switcher (hold BlackBerry/menu button) and see if BBM is running there. Once I switched to it, it made me accept the license agreement, and subsequently showed in the home screen.

Let me know if it works for you.

I did that. Unfortunately, it didn't show up in there either. Thanks for your suggestion though. This is frustrating not having BBM right now.

Anyone having bluetooth issues with it? My earpiece periodically makes a tone that usually precedes a call arriving or being connected.

It does this although no call is coming in or going out. Only happens once or twice per day, but it happens.

I wonder if it happens when the battery is fully charged. I'll have to pay attention and see if that is it.

I've downloaded and installed the update. But when I plug in my blackberry it says there are no updates available? Any one have a clue about this one? Vendor.xml has been deleted. I've posted this a few other times and no one replys.
