AT&T Visual Voicemail Is Live
Please Login to Remove!
I called AT&T just a few moments ago and got it running. The rep insisted that it isn't available today, but I asked her to please search for provisioning code BBVV. She did, found it, and added it to my account. After a quick reboot, Visual Voicemail is working!
So far I like it. I get caller ID information on my voicemail, plus I get caller ID information on the popup notice for new voicemail instead of a generic "you have a voicemail message" popup.
Enjoy!

Nope. At least, not according to the rep. I will wait for my next bill just to be sure, however. Other websites are reporting that this is a free addition for the BlackBerry Bold.

Is it any better than fusion voicemail plus? I'm running that now but the sound quality is great.

Not sure. I expect it will be available online at some point, just not sure if it will be tomorrow. Calling customer services wasn't too bad once I told her what code to search for, but I admit that I first tried to provision it myself online.

No idea. I have never used the other visual voicemail options available on the BlackBerry because I have been waiting for the "official" one. All I can say is that this one looks like the e-mail client on the BlackBerry, listing your voicemails with message duration and Caller ID information instead of subject and sender information for e-mail messages.
I can set my voice prompt to be either standard or personalized, and I can record and review the personalized greeting. I can set a few options such as:
- Auto Download Messages
- Allow Data Connection While Roaming
- Confirm Delete
I can also set my voicemail password via the application.
Lastly, I can save the voicemail messages to my memory card, save them in my saved messages list, or forward them as MMS or e-mail attachments. I can also reply to the voicemail as SMS, MMS, or e-mail, although I assume this would require the Caller ID to be stored as a contact in your address book.
All in all, it works well, does exactly what I had hoped, and is free. Perfect.

Being able to save the message to my msd is the best news to me. I can save my kids calls. Does the time they called on the msd card? I need evidence in court.

When I saved the voicemail to the media card, the filename contained the date and time of the message. The message itself does not contain a time-stamp, however. When I e-mailed myself the voicemail, the subject contained the date and time of the voicemail, but again, the voicemail itself does not contain a time-stamp.

Got mine set up, gave them the feature code, no problems. So far so good, but I miss the YouMail feature that sent me text messages when I missed a call and I didn't have the phone on. Oh well.

On the phone with the CSR now. Apart from just not being familiar with the feature, he's been willing to help and is trying to get everything going.

Got hold of a very nice young lady first call to AT&T who knew what she was talking about...and then right before she pulled the trigger on the VVM setup, we realized that it would effectively erase all my old VM messages. So, with a heavy heart...I decided to write down all pertinent information from my saved messages tonight...
...and wait for the official OS update tomorrow.
