Default CODE tag adds unwanted spaces

My last post, as well as other posts I have made using the CODE tag has unwanted spaces. It seems as though anywhere the word 'index' is used it adds spaces between the n & d. Maybe I will try it here, it's far too early in the morning.

cd.

1. It's not the CODE tag.
2. It's not Index.

It's the wordwrapping algorithm in vBulletin that affects all text posted - It breaks long unbroken pieces of text. I know, it shouldn't act upon CODE blocks, though...

The word "Index" is a common term at the end of a long computer code line, so Index is only a coincidence.

To workaround, simply add carefully-positioned spaces. I just edited your post to add a space after the paranthesis, and that eliminated the automatic space break in the middle of an unbroken "long string of text with no whitespace".

Wow... I thought you were hiding out somewhere Mark, you haven't been around too much... busy with work I suppose...

I just paste my code in... I would really not rather have to reformat it, but oh well... I guess I will just deal with it.

Mark, I don't think its vBulletin so much as it is the style being used (bluesaint, I believe). Most likely, you could use the Liquid version of the theme, if its available, to bypass this issue. I've never had issues with spacing within the [CODE] tag on any forum I've been on using vBulletin 3.0+ ...
