Toronto, Canadialand... I am on my way in my 4 piece powder blue tuxedo to crash the party. I will be assuming the name Ned Rierson.

Spoiler Alert

If your attending the other launch dates look away now.
Where to start, the event was held at the Circa night club here in Toronto. Much more suitable venue compared to the 8800 launch at the Royal York. They had some booths both upstairs and downstairs showcasing the Bold along with some accessories that will be available with it. There was free booze and free food(mostly appetizers, the lamb was the best imo).
The polished and passionate theme for the bold was portrayed by a pair of dancers doing the salsa. They had a "surprise" announcement midway thru the launch which everyone pretty much knew what it was - a free Bold to all attendees. Just like the other launches here in Toronto, the devices will be mailed to your destination of choice in a couple of weeks.

Do you need my home address? or do you have it already?

Very cool, thanks for the update, and grats on the freebie Bold!

Yes it is the same site. From the main page, just click on the Toronto location. On the next screen select Event Feedback, you will be asked to enter the confirmation code you received when you registered for the event.

So if the attendees get their free Bold in the mail in a couple of weeks I presume the phone will be released in Canada to coincide with their arrival. Wouldn't be cool to have a bunch of comped phones being flashed around town and not be able to buy one yourself. That would be a pr disaster IMO.

Or a great way to hype up the product, presumably the people invited to the launch party (sadly not me :() where invited because they have influence.

Giving people the product in advance to show it up is just smart.

I was hoping/expecting we could leave the party with a Bold in hand...now i have to wait 2 more weeks.

am i the only one that prefers the size of the 8100 series to the bold? i think i'll use the bold for a little while until the novelty wears off then switch back to my 8120.

I prefer a QWERTY to the pearl style keyboard. Plus, the Bold will be 3G.

I was at the launch last night. I had an opportunity to play with the Bold. The screen resolution and speed of the unit is impressive. The keyboard is very smooth design. The music at the party was being supplied by two Bold devices into the clubs sound system. All of the devices on display had movie trailers installed so you could watch them.

The Black background with the new menu's is really slick. The unit is a little lighter than the curve -at least that is what I judged. it is wider than the curve and just as thick.

I'm supposed to be sent a free unit before the end of the month. I'm looking forward to getting it.

Is anyone else from the Montreal show having trouble getting to the page after the show for feedback?

I attended the event and they told me to expect an email on Friday with instructions on how to get my new BOLD but I received nothing as of yet.

Has anyone else gotten the email?

When I go to the site it says return after the event to give your feedback. I wonder why it won't let me in (I don't get far enough to input my registation code, it's like the event hasn't occured yet). The Toronto page let's me to the login (pin) but it says not valid for this event.

Wonder what's wrong.

I had the same problem. IMO Martiz is doing a horrible job with this giveaway and not at all helping create any goodwill towards RIM. I didn't necessarily need a free BOLD but now that they've offered it I find it frustrating that they are making it so difficult to redeem the free giveaway.
